VDH issues advisory on recreational water use in Russell County

The Virginia Department of Health is advising people against recreational water use in portions of Russell County. It is due to an ongoing sewage overflow coming from the wastewater treatment plant in Honaker. People and pets are advised to avoid recreational water activities use in portions of Lewis Creek and the Clinch River. Officials advise against consuming fish from the water as well.
