Today I’ll share with you 2 of the greatest chess games ever played that will make anyone fall in love with chess! The first game is between Ralf Runau and Schmidt, where you will see a brilliant rook sacrifice followed by a queen sacrifice. This genius tactical combination allowed White to get his rook into the 8th rank (making use of Black’s undeveloped pieces on the queenside), and then promote his pawn to a knight to deliver a classy checkmate! The second game is played between Stefan Levitsky and Frank Marshall. This game showcases Marshall’s mind-blowing queen sacrifice to which the spectators were first shocked, then applauded, and ultimately showered gold coins over the chessboard, cheering Marshall!
